The context
Radio-Canada has been exploring virtual sets for several years: studios where the visual environment is generated in real time, making it possible to change worlds without rebuilding a physical set.
For one of its virtual studio projects, the public broadcaster turned to us — because virtual production on Aximmetry has become one of our specialties, from creator studios to national network sets.
The constraint
At a public broadcaster, a virtual studio isn’t a technology demo: it’s a production tool that has to deliver on air, every day, with the quality and reliability standards that implies. The render has to hold up live, the chain has to be operable by in-house teams, and every link — capture, keying, rendering, outputs — has to be sized for real use, not for the spec sheet.
What we did
We designed and integrated the studio’s complete chain: rendering workstations built and configured for Aximmetry, keying calibrated against the physical set, inputs and outputs connected to Radio-Canada’s technical ecosystem, and the whole validated under production conditions.

Our Aximmetry approach is the same everywhere: the platform is powerful, but it’s the sizing of the rendering hardware and the rigour of the keying that separate a virtual studio that impresses in a demo from a virtual studio that delivers on air.
The result
The studio is in operation at the public broadcaster. And for us, this mandate carries particular weight: the same Aximmetry expertise we deploy for independent creators and private broadcasters is now in service at Radio-Canada.
